On February 5, the Vigilance Agra Sector team arrested accountant Narayan Pratap Singh, posted in Kol tehsil of Aligarh, while taking a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh. He was demanding bribe to give report on land compensation. In this case, based on the complaint of the victim, the team laid a trap. After this the accountant was caught red handed.
Rakesh Sharma, resident of Jwalapuri, Quarsi, Aligarh, had lodged a complaint with Vigilance. He told that land is to be acquired to build an airport in Kol tehsil area. The accountant had to submit a report for compensation for the land. Compensation is to be given on their land also. Accountant Narayan Pratap Singh posted in Kol tehsil had demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh. They talked about the amount. On this he reduced the amount by Rs 50 thousand and started demanding Rs 1.50 lakh.
SP Vigilance Shagun Gautam said that the complaint was received a week ago. A confidential investigation was conducted on this. The matter turned out to be true. On this, the team laid a trap to arrest the accused accountant. The accountant was supposed to come to collect the bribe amount on the evening of 5th February. An envelope of Rs 1.50 lakh was given to Rakesh Sharma. He has a shop in Gandhi Park area. The accountant reached in the evening. He took the bribe amount. The team reached this. The accountant was arrested. Brought her to Agra late at night. There were preparations to file a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act in the Vigilance Police Station in this matter.
